Our Story
Khutwa (Arabic for "a step") started as a small studio in Paris. The name is literal: we tried to improve one thing at a time—fit, seam, fabric—until a garment felt right. The influence is Iraqi: family workshops, practical tailoring, clothes that serve the day without drama. Paris taught us discipline; Iraq taught us warmth. Together, they guide how we design and how we treat the people who help us make these clothes.
Each release is small and focused. We test fits on different bodies, adjust patterns, and keep what works. We partner with mills we can visit and workshops we know by name. If a fabric pills or a seam fails in testing, it doesn't ship. We prefer to prevent issues rather than fix them later.
